The 22 Beast - Serious 22 cal. AR-15 Power!
s

The 22 Beast (left) has a significantly larger powder capacity than the .223 Rem. (right) and can easily push the 77-82gr bullets at 2800-3000 fps.

The 22 Beast uses commercial 6mm HAGAR brass necked down to 22 cal.

Similar case length to the .223 Rem. allows you to use you favorite 22 cal. magazine fed bullets backed by a lot more power!

Brass is easy to make with a simple neck down process!

The 22 Beast has the case capacity to run the 77-82 gr bullets easily in the 2800-3000 fps range (see chrono results below).

What we like about the 22 Beast:

The 22 Beast cartridge is a simple neck down of the 6mm HAGAR to 22 cal.  The OAL of the case is within about .010" of a .223 Rem. case which makes it perfect for use with all the big 22 cal. bullets that are suitable for magazine feeding (Sierra, Berger, Lapua, and Nosler 77's, Hornady 75's etc.) and the case has sufficient case capacity to push the big bullets well, accurately, and fast even at moderate chamber pressures.  The case has around a 37 gr. water capacity vs. the .223 Rem which is only about 29.5 gr of water capacity.  The 22 Beast has plenty of power and 2800 - 3000 fps with the 77-82 gr. bullets is a cinch!

- The case has an OAL that works perfectly with existing magazine fed .223 Rem. Bullets.

- It has adequate case capacity to run the larger 22 cal. bullets well, fast and accurately.

- You can run the 90's single load if you want to.

- The Hornady 6mm HAGAR brass is excellent brass and available!

- The neck down process is very easy.

- Great case capacity for top velocities without being a "barrel burner."

- There are many accurate and consistent loads.

- Works well with a lot of powders suitable for the 223 Rem.

- Magazines are available that work flawlessly with the cartridge

The 22 Beast - easy to make!

The 22 Beast cartridge is easy to make, just take Hornady 6mm HAGAR cases, run them through your resize die, load them and shoot them - No neck turning - No Trimming - Not Complicated!
